Verification Process
If a student's records are selected for verification by the Department of Education, he/she will be notified by mail and asked to provide documentation of income, family size and number of people in college. Any other information unique to that student will also be indicated and collected at that time.
Students are normally given two weeks to provide the requested information. The college will not accept information for the current award after the student is no longer enrolled with the college or thirty days before the end of the summer term of the out-going year.
If the changes during the verification process affect eligibility, you will be notified in writing as soon as the updated information is received from the processor. Students and/or their parents will be able to review the changes that the financial aid office made as a result of verification if they so desire.
